Apparatus for supporting drill pipes during their storage and transport includes pipe holders havingan operatingposition in which the pipe holders are disposes in superimposed spaced relationship.Pipes are disposed in the spaces between the pipe holders,the pipe holders having an upper side and lower side with the upper and lower sides having opposed spaces apart recesses for accommadating the pipes.Aclamping device is provided for clamping pipe holders and the pipes into a clamped unit.
